"I curated my experience within the program to create the best possible outcomes for me as a pre-med student. I appreciated the advisors who were available to assist me with picking medical schools, my personal statement, and volunteer opportunities. I'm graduating with a M.S. in Medical Science as a better student than     when I came in."

Post-Baccalaureate Career Coaching

How Health Professions Advising Works

You’re serious about your studies and your goals. The health professions and medical school application process can be difficult to navigate. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

You’ll meet with the senior director of graduate studies to discuss clinical and volunteer opportunities, curriculum questions, and career goals. Next, our graduate and post-baccalaureate health professions advisors will evaluate your study plan, grades, and post-graduate plans.

Finally, you will receive career coaching which includes help drafting your personal statement, take part in mock interviews, and get assistance with the application process.

Results-Based Career Coaching in Health Professions

As a qualified graduate or post-baccalaureate student, you’ll receive a detailed committee letter for your health professions applications. This valuable letter outlines your individual accomplishments and helps differentiate you from other applicants.

Medical students also receive an Interfolio account. Our health professions advisors will teach you how to store application materials in your Interfolio dossier. As an added benefit, this account connects with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).

Providing Personalized Career Coaching

As you begin your graduate and post-baccalaureate coursework at Agnes Scott, our health professions advising team will work alongside you so you can reach your career goals. We will:

  • Recommend additional courses, if applicable.
  • Seek volunteer and community service opportunities — including clinics, nonprofits, and hospitals — that will help you market yourself. Discover workplaces and organizations where students have served in the past.
  • Guide you with the medical school and health professions application timeline process.

Our career coaches will also help you strengthen your medical or health professions application, including MCAT test prep.

As part of the Clinical Practicum course, our team of advisors guide you in locating the best clinical experience, community service project or volunteer experience based on your long-term goals.
