Reunion and Class Officers

At reunion class meetings (every fifth year after graduation), classes elect officers: class president, vice president, secretary, annual fund chair, and reunion chair.

Class Officers share news from the college and keep classmates in touch with each other and the Office of Alumnae Relations. The Office of Alumnae Relations supports all Class Officers, with the exception of the Fund Chair.

  • Class Presidents and Vice Presidents help keep the class connected, organize class events in non-reunion years, and help get information about the college to their classmates. These leaders are often the most significant voice helping alums stay connected to Agnes Scott.
  • Class Secretaries play a key role in building excellent records on their class. Twice a year, they play a very active role in collecting Class News for The Onyx.

Reunion Chairs/Co-Chairs/Committees take a special lead in organizing reunion parties and events.

Fund Chairs, working with the Office of Development, lead each class’s efforts with fundraising activities. Class fund chairs play a key role in the success of the college’s Annual Fund, also known as The Fund for Agnes Scott.

Philanthropy

Alumnae play an important role in service to the college by giving to the college. The percentage of alumnae who give is important to the college financially and also has a positive impact on college rankings and corporate and foundation giving.

Alumnae who give at leadership levels are invited to the annual giving society events in recognition of their impact, such as the Fideles Society or Tower Circle Giving Society. Alumnae who include Agnes Scott in their estate planning are invited to join the Frances Winship Walters Society.

If you are interested in becoming a class fund chair or would like more information on giving, contact the Office of Development at development@agnesscott.edu.
